Plan trips around the memberships you already have.

RV Magic puts your networks on one map, keeps your booking windows straight, and helps you sketch a loose loop that actually uses what you’re already paying for.

Built by Joe Weinberger — a fellow camper, not a software company.

Map of nearly 2,000 membership campgrounds across the US, color-coded by network

The problem it solves

You’re already paying for Thousand Trails. Maybe Encore on top of it. Maybe RPI or Coast to Coast. The hard part was never finding a campground — it’s finding one you can actually use, on the route you’re taking, during the window when you’re allowed to book it.

That’s three different things to hold in your head at once, and most people just… don’t. So the membership sits there, half-used, quietly costing money.

RV Magic is one guy’s attempt to put all three in the same place. Tell it what you carry. It shows you what’s yours.

How it works

Three steps. That’s the whole app.

1

Tell it which memberships you carry

Tap Select on the ones you actually hold — Thousand Trails, Trails Collection, RPI, Coast to Coast, Passport America, Good Sam, KOA, and more. It remembers. There’s also a Compare view if you’re curious how they stack up.

The map becomes your map

Only your networks light up, color-coded, all on one screen — nearly two thousand parks. Tap any one for the phone number and address. And when you’re somewhere your networks don’t reach, the “find campgrounds in this area” button searches whatever region you’re looking at.

Every dot is a park in one of the networks. Green = Thousand Trails, blue = Trails Collection (Encore), yellow = RPI, and so on.

3

Sketch a loose loop and work around it

Give it a start and an end and it’ll rough out an itinerary through your parks. Save it, name it, pull it back up next season. It’s a starting point to negotiate with — not a booking engine, and not a promise.

The part most people forget

It keeps your booking windows straight

Every network books differently. Thousand Trails Regional opens at 60 days. Journey is 120. Adventure is 180. Trails Collection has its own rules. Miss the window and the good sites are gone — and you paid for the privilege of missing them. RV Magic keeps each network’s window next to its parks, so you know when to pick up the phone.

Events & attractions nearby

Festivals, shows, and things worth stopping for — which often means another excuse to use a park you’re already paying for.

🧭

Routing that knows your rig

Enter your length and height once. It attempts truck-aware routing rather than treating you like a sedan. Read the warnings below on this one — “attempts” is doing real work in that sentence.

🌞

Weather & departure

A gut-check on what you’re rolling into before you break camp. Unofficial — the National Weather Service is still the boss.

⭐

Favorites & camp journal

Star the parks worth returning to. Write down the ones that weren’t. Six months later you will not remember which was which.

📍

Turn-by-turn with voice

Gas and food along the route, add a stop mid-trip, night mode for two-lane roads after dark.

Who built this, and what we’re not promising

RV Magic was made by Joe Weinberger — a fellow camper and an optimization enthusiast who got tired of doing this math on a legal pad. He is not a professional programmer, not an app company, and not a professional driver. He built the tool he wanted and offered it to the community. We think that’s worth sharing.

We didn’t build it, we don’t maintain it, and we’re hosting it as a free courtesy. So let’s be plain about what nobody here is guaranteeing:

We do not guarantee any of this:

The roads. Routes, clearances, restrictions, conditions — none of it.
The pricing. Membership costs move constantly. Rebates and promos routinely beat whatever number is listed, and the deal can change the same day the email lands in your inbox. Whatever price the app shows you, assume it is already wrong.
The booking windows. They’re a helpful reminder, not a rulebook. Networks change them.
The park lists. Which parks belong to which membership tier changes, and parks come and go.
That it keeps working at all. It leans on free public data services that can go down.

All of it was assembled from publicly available data, and public data goes stale. Call ahead. Verify before you commit. Confirm your park is still in your network, your window is still your window, and your price is still your price.

Use it to sketch a loose trip. Then work around it. That’s what it’s for.

⚠️ READ THIS BEFORE YOU DRIVE WITH IT

Everything above is what it’s for. This is what it can’t do — and nobody has vetted this app. Not us. Not anyone.

Vertical clearance. RV Magic may route you under bridges, overpasses, tunnels, or tree cover your rig cannot clear. Clearance data in open mapping is incomplete and frequently inaccurate. Never rely on this app to decide whether you will fit. Know your height. Obey posted clearance signs. When in doubt, stop and look.

Routing can fall back to a standard car route. The app attempts RV/truck-aware routing, but when that service is busy or down it falls back to standard automobile routing, which ignores height, weight, and vehicle restrictions entirely. To its credit, the app tells you on screen when this happens — watch for the “clearance-aware routing unavailable” warning. But a standard route is still a standard route. If you see that warning, verify the route yourself before you drive it.

Weight and bridge limits. The app may route you across bridges or roads with weight restrictions your rig exceeds. Verify posted limits yourself.

Length, turning radius, and grade. Routes may include switchbacks, hairpins, steep grades, long descents, or roads too narrow for a large vehicle.

Propane and hazmat restrictions. Some tunnels, bridges, and ferries prohibit vehicles carrying propane. RV Magic does not account for this.

Road conditions and closures. The app may route you onto unpaved, unmaintained, seasonally closed, washed-out, private, or impassable roads. It does not reliably know about closures, construction, wildfire, flooding, or winter conditions.

Speed limits may be wrong. Any speed limit shown may be inaccurate, outdated, or absent. Obey posted signs, always. The sign is the law. The app is not.

GPS and signal loss. Position may be inaccurate or unavailable in canyons, forests, mountains, and remote areas — which is exactly where RVers go. Carry paper maps. Do not make this your only means of navigation.

Do not operate while driving. Hand it to a passenger or pull over. Distracted driving is illegal and kills people.

Not for emergency use. RV Magic is not an emergency, roadside, medical, or weather-warning service. In an emergency, call 911. For official weather warnings, use the National Weather Service.

Park, pricing, and booking-window info may be wrong. Prices, availability, network membership, booking rules, and amenities change constantly. Always confirm directly with the park or provider before you travel, book, or buy. Nothing here is an offer, quote, or guarantee.

Your location leaves your device. To provide maps, search, routing, and weather, the app sends your location and queries to third-party services we do not control.

Third-party services may fail. The app depends on free, public, community-run infrastructure with no uptime guarantee. Features may stop working — including at the moment you need them most.
