Georgia State Guide
A month in Georgia wasn’t nearly enough time to enjoy the full state. But after one month, I fell in love with Georgia and can’t wait to go back! Georgia will be one of my Go-To-States from now on. Whether I want to do some great mountain biking or escape to a relaxing beach – Georgia has the answer to the question: beaches or mountains????
ππ Quick Trip Notes.
Georgia was a fairly Vanlife friendly state. The one thing I noted was that there were not a lot of options for rest areas. In fact, I think they’re only four highway rest areas in the entire state. Overall I found the climate to be Vanlife friendly, and the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in particular, was very friendly towards van lifers. Perhaps one of my favorite things about Georgia is that you can be at the beach in two hours or the mountains in one to two hours depending on where you start.
The mountain biking is world-class and top-notch. I feel, though I only scratch the surface of what was available to me in Georgia and I will definitely plan on making future trips there – a month simply was not enough time. If you find yourself in Atlanta, you are remiss not to visit the Georgia state aquarium. It may very well be the best aquarium in the world. The entrance fee is rather high, but when you go, you can make an entire day of it and feel very entertained and enriched for the experience. The whale sharks are amazing. The beluga whales are beautiful and breathtaking, and the shark exhibit is something to behold.

A Little Bit About Me.
I started writing this blog as a way to capture the adventurous and free lifestyle I’m privileged to live. I’ve traveled to over 28 countries and 35 U.S States. I’ve lived aboard in multiple countries and averaged over 100 days a year of travel for work. I’ve skied and hiked all over the world – and my new obsession is mountain biking.
What I bring to you isn’t AI generated. It’s based on my feet on the ground – or sometimes conversations with locals.Β Click here to read more about me!Β
